Auxier Gas – GBQ Member of the Week: 12.18.2017

Auxier Gas was founded in 1946 by William “Bun” Auxier in partnership with Garland “Red” Auxier, his brother. Originally known as Auxier Electric Store, the company sold radios and televisions, adding furniture about a year later. In 1948, the partners bought a small gas company, and five years later, built their first bulk plant in Batavia.

Nearly 70 years later, Auxier Gas has become a trusted partner to more than 5,000 households in the Tri-State area. Our family-owned company proudly serves 11 counties in Southern Ohio and Northern Kentucky with the belief that superior customer service and quality products are the reason why so many customers refer us to others.

Auxier Gas’ main concern is quality service and savings.  Specializing in supplying propane for residential and commercial purposes such as residential home heating, cooking, water heating and clothes drying, and commercial business heating, the operating of fork lifts and much more.

In 2008 Auxier Gas established their Customer Appreciation and Classic Cars “Cruize In” which raises money for the Pink Ribbon Girls.  During the annual rain or shine Cruize In event, we invite all of our customers and the community to stop by our headquarters with their classic car or motorcycle and participate in games and activities for prizes, while our staff grills and serves free burgers and Queen City hot dogs and sausages. Each car or motorcycle registered also receives a custom Dash Plaque, and trophies are awarded for Doug’s Choice. Our most recent Auxier Gas Homecoming Cook Out and Cruize In raised $600 for the Pink Ribbon Girls.

A percentage of each gallon of Auxier Gas propane delivered in our pink trucks is also donated to the Pink Ribbon Girls.

Where do you see yourself and your business in the next 5 years?

I see myself as an employee striving to learn more and enhance my skills.  Also, learning to take on more responsibilities as well as self-development.  I look forward to growing the company by adding new products and even possibly expanding to some outlying counties.

Can you name a person who has had a tremendous impact on you as a leader?

My father –he has taught me to push myself and has been a wonderful mentor throughout the years.  He is a hard worker and has the determination to succeed in anything he does.  Without my dad’s devotion and dedication in life, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

If you could give $100,000 to any charity, which would it be and why?

The Charity of my choice would be St. Jude so that they could find a cure for all of the children suffering from cancer so that they can live their life without being sick.

Where would we find you on the weekends?

On the weekends you can find me hanging out with my family and friends camping and riding four wheelers.
